Endodontic Services Provided By Downtown Endodontic Specialists:

(1)   Diagnosis and Treatment of Orofacial Pain - Oral pain is often difficult to pinpoint.  Because of the vast network of nerves in the mouth, the pain of a damaged or diseased tooth often is felt in another tooth and/or in the head, neck, or ear.  Dr. Parsi is a specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of these types of pain.

(2)   Root Canal Treatment - This procedure is performed to save a tooth when the pulp, which contains the nerve, becomes damaged. Therapy consists of opening the tooth, removing the pulp, cleaning, shaping, and filling to seal the root canals. Endodontic therapy is usually highly successful (up to 95% of the time)!

(3)   Root Canal Retreatment - Occasionally a tooth that has undergone endodontic, treatment fails to heal.  Often pain ensues despite therapy. Less frequently, infection recurs after several years.  If any of these situations occurs, the tooth often can be maintained with a second endodontic treatment.

(4)   Apicoectomy - Sometimes nonsurgical endodontic therapy is ineffective. The endodontist may then use an out patient surgical procedure in which the root-end and infection is removed, the root-tip is filled and the missing bone is replaced.

(5)   Exploratory Surgery - Exploration of boney and tooth structures in order to diagnose and determine the cause of pain.

(6)   Dental Trauma - Pulp damage is sometimes caused by a blow to the mouth, and Dr. Parsi is specially trained to handle these traumatic injuries. For example, a blow to a child’s tooth can cause the root to stop growing and certain procedures must be immediately undertaken to ensure retention of these teeth.  Dr. Parsi is also specially trained in replanting teeth that have been knocked out of their sockets.

(7)   Root Amputations - Removal of single roots in multi-rooted teeth in an attempt to save the tooth.

(8)   Hemisections - Removal of half a tooth in order to save the tooth.

(9)  Intentional Reimplantation - The natural/non-metallic implant.  Removal and replacement of your tooth in order to remove infection and save your tooth.
